Client: The Plumbing Industry Commission of Victoria
The principles and implementation framework put forward in this research was based on surveys and focus groups with over 1300 Victorian plumbers and interviews with a wide variety of plumbing regulators and plumbing associations across Australia.

This report explores the current perceptions on plumbing career pathways and information needs for new entrants and current plumbers within the Victorian market. It uncovers the dramatic increases in career options now available to plumbers and the lack of understanding of these various options by the public and even by the current plumbing fraternity. The report highlights the most important career information needed and plumbers' views on how best to distribute this information.

The role of the regulator is explored and a model for developing a career map in the plumbing industry is presented.
