CLIENT: The Construction & Property Services Industry Skills Council and funded under the Australian Government's
Industry Training Strategies Programme, administered by the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations
The Barriers and Drivers on Post-Apprenticeship Plumbing Training present results from national surveys with current plumbing apprentices, plumbers, and RTO plumbing lecturers across Australia. The report highlights the reasons why people take up post-apprenticeship training with specific attention to the current Certificate IV level licensing units and overall qualification. The challenges for post-apprenticeship training are explored by various stakeholders with comments on the current structural challenges and value perception.

RTO challenges are highlighted, especially within the Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications. And finally, continuous professional development is explored to ascertain the current support and training needs within the plumbing industry.
